MOT & Servicing Midlands (Derby)

Hi everyone, it's been aaages, since I've done a post here in A2OC...but I've been visiting & trying to keep current ;)

There's 2 things that I need some help rather urgently...first off I need to know of a good MOT place, a trustworthy place that I can go to and access my car properly, i remember last year I had to go to 2 places, as the first quoted me some astronomical figure and didn't pass my car.
My beloved A2 has some problems, but I still think it can pass the MOT...so if you guys have any recommendations of where to go around Midlands would be great. I live in Derby currently

The second point, is because of the problems mentioned above, I need to go to Audi to get the car Serviced and sorted, and I would like to know which one is the better dealer in terms of Price & Quality. Again if possible around the Derby area.

Any other suggestions would be most welcome also, plus I don't mind drivin away from Derby as long as the service and price are better.

If you guys could give me a hand I would appreciate it greatly.

Thanks a mill in advance

Come to Nottingham!

Found a brilliant new MoT centre - that's all they do -no back street garage attached:

Talk to owner: Phil
Ludlow Hill MOT Centre‎
10 Ludlow Hill Road
West Bridgford, Nottingham, United Kingdom NG2 6HF
0115 923 4553

For parts I can recommend Nottingham Audi - talk to Nick and mention A2OC and he will give you 10 % off. Derby side of town just off A52.

Nottingham Audi Abbeyfield Road Lenton Industrial Estate Nottingham NG7 2SW

Tel:0115 988 282

For servicing - well I've given up on main dealers due cost - do most of it myself with genuine parts - std service not that hard.

I use Sunset motors on Parcel Terrace (near the city centre) for both servicing and MOT's! They're really great, know their stuff and really good customer service! I take my a2 there and my brother takes his new A4 there! They're VAG specialists and to my knowledge only use genuine parts (well they have on my car anyway and I'm sure it's their policy). I really can't recommend them enough!

Thanks so much guys....
@ecoangel: I'll definitely check Ludlow, sounds like a genuinely good place. Will give them a call tomorrow.
You do your own servicing?! sounds really interesting...how do you reset your onboard computer? Do you have a vag?

@adam_a2: I've tried Sunset VW last year, and to be honest I can't complain. I was actually dwelling if I should go again, but being a garage, I am always weary that they might charge me for something that doesn't exist. But to be fair, when I passed by, they where very to the point and honest.
