Need Camshaft Sensor

got a vag-com check done and error showing camshaft sensor is faulty

is this necessary, what are the symptoms of a faulty camshaft sensor..

the car has recently started kind losing power when accelerating like for a second kinda of like a misfire buts its a TDI

Hi Adrenaline
The engine ECU uses the signal from the camshaft sensor to control the fuelling to the appropiate cylinders when starting the engine. The crankshaft sensor is used as a back-up but it may take a few revolutions of the engine for it to work out which cylinder is on compression and needs the fuel.
I don't think the loss of power is relaterd.
