I joined this forum a few weeks ago while on the lookout for an A2 TDI. I have found this forum very useful in researching known problems and fixes. Thanks to those of you who posted links to A2's for sale.
Below are a few photos of my 2003 TDI SE 75

First thing to be done is fit new timing belt and water pump as these were last changed in 2009 around 70000 miles ago.
The extras fitted to the car are BOSE sound system, electric rear windows, climate control, metallic paint, heated front seats, winter package,6CD Symphony radio, drivers information system and multi-function steering wheel.
There is a bit of lacquer peel about the size of a 50p on the bonnet, this has been painted before. This has already been arranged for repair along with a refurb of the alloy wheels as I am rather particular.
The car came with a lot of service history including the original purchase invoice from the dealer which was Preston Audi. The first owner traded in a 2002 MGZR 120+, then he traded in at Evans Halshaw Ford in 2010.
According to the paperwork this car has twice had the rear vents resealed, however they now need doing again.
I have purchased A2 number similar to one on my old A4 Avant.
The interior will have to be scrubbed aswell.

Nice car with good spec. If the vents have been 'resealed' twice it's maybe best replacing them. They aren't dear parts. Ian Pirie at Ayr Audi parts has an A2 and both he and colleague Johnny are very helpful.

Quite a rare motor you've got . Very unusual to see heated cloth seats.

I have dealt with both the guys you mentioned above about parts for both my A4's. I will give them a call on Tuesday.

Welcome along! I'll keep an eye out as I'm in Stewarton visiting my eldest over the next few days. (As well as others in the brood over Edinburgh way)

New timing belt and water pump fitted. I had to replace the pipe which runs from the AFM to the Turbo as it was cracked near to the turbo. I have purchased and fitted new boot vent seals and hope to look forward to a dry boot. In 2008 when there was the first recorded water leak into the boot, the radio also lost reception. I found the problem when fitting the boot vents.

The car is fitted with an aerial in the windscreen, it appears to give good reception but will reserve judgement till I have visited Dumfries and Galloway.

The photos that follow show the car as of yesterday. The bonnet has been painted due to a small dent and lacquer peel. The car has been quickly detailed by myself in a friends garage, a more thorough job will been done when it gets warmer.

Fantastic. Looks excellent and loving the attention to detail on the wheels and hubs. So I've a rival for most minted A2 in South Ayrshire !:p
