That’s the one!I will try and show restraint in relation to this..... eBay link to that German one
Good Afternoon,There's a suspicion that this not being a thing in the car is a reason why it's so full of rage when the battery is connected.
It appears that once the stereo was full of coinage, possibly, small fingers turned their attention to other things....
Welcome Ant, I'm disappointed-I thought that I had bought the cheapest UK A2 at £400!Hi.
There's a back story to how I've got here (isn't there for everyone?) but from a 2003 V8 MG estate I found myself in a 2018 Kia Soul EV and now I'm having a further change. The yellow car in the photo is my new summer transport and the cheapest A2 in the country has been bought for winter and autumn. It's currently getting its first MoT in a couple of years and then it'll be pulled into service for carrying the kids and their bikes etc.
I may have a few questions about the A2, so I just thought I'd introduce myself and say hello first.

£475? Still hold the record for cheapest UK A2 then, although I've spent near to 2K to get it roadworthy......still worth the journey. The head unit is long gone, there's some sort of 7" x 2" Sony thing in there. And the glove compartment falls to pieces when you open it. Overall though, it's pretty neat. It was for sale at £475, so I reckon I did pretty well ?
That’s good to know, I’ll order one from them when they reopen (seems they’re closed for Christmas at the moment) otherwise I’m sure it being upside down will bug me ?Good Afternoon,
It may be nothing but the little switch picture looks to me for LHD. Our RHD A2s have a switch with part number ending in 'A'. You can use a LHD switch but it will be upside down. The RHD switch is NLA from Audi but available at Audi Tradition.

Indeed, £400 definitely beats my buy, it was the cheapest on autotrader when I bought and I think the cheapest in the UK at the time that wasn’t a wreck that looked at risk of catching on fire.£475? RHD part also available from eBay, just £15 more (obvs) so have ordered and cancelled the other one. Thank you for pointing it out ??That’s good to know, I’ll order one from them when they reopen (seems they’re closed for Christmas at the moment) otherwise I’m sure it being upside down will bug me ?
Unfortunately unless things have changed, since Brexit you will find Audi Tradition will not trade with the UK. If you have friends or family in the EU you could get them to buy it and posted to them and then posted on to you but this would incur an extra postage cost. Alternatively there is a new one currently on ebay, but a tad expensive,That’s good to know, I’ll order one from them when they reopen (seems they’re closed for Christmas at the moment) otherwise I’m sure it being upside down will bug me ?
Is it possible mine’s the cheapest, viable five seater that’s gone up for sale?
Having watched prices over the years, is it the case that they've already reached the dip of being old runabouts and are now heading up as "appreciating classics"?Tom @2work bought one for £250 last year all legal and in a lot better condition than the price would suggest. I'm sure he'd be the first to admit it's since several times its purchase price lavished upon it in maintenance and upgrades.
If I remember right, Steve @Cenick also had a really inexpensive pine green TDI a while back.
I worry it might be the one I've just purchased....?Unfortunately unless things have changed, since Brexit you will find Audi Tradition will not trade with the UK. That's okay, the part number ends in 'A' and in the picture the switch bends in at the boot end of the little car icon which is correct.I worry it might be the one I've just purchased....?
I don't think there's any doubt of the A2's rising status, I'd say the question is more like is that going to be more within cult or mainstream classic circles. The ones with good provenance and/or low mileage and/or lots of desirable options have been asking some strong money but taking a while to sell. Those at the other end of the market are probably now starting to rise, some of it because prices for everything seem to be going up these days but also with the increased interest in them. Dealers of course always have tended to try it on as hard as they can but especially if there's the slightest whiff of desirability about the carHaving watched prices over the years, is it the case that they've already reached the dip of being old runabouts and are now heading up as "appreciating classics"?
