hi does any one have a wiring loom diagram that links to the power steering pump,i have bought one accident damaged and i think part ov it is missing i have stripped i down and to find i have about 6-7 wires hanging but all the cables that go to the pump are all connected and are ok so does anyone no what else connects from the pump loom.

any help please....

Ahh, specialist subject!

Going to the power steering pump you have:

Thick red wire (6mm sq) - power feed to pump
Thick brown wire (6mm) - earth feed to pump
Thin blue/black wire - power feed to control unit (from fuse 38, first junction or joint is in the base of the A pillar.

You also have a twisted pair of orange wires, these are the CAN wires that carry speed and turn rate info to the control unit.

Also in the loom, but going to other components are 3 wires going to the climate condensor G65 pressure sensor, 2 wires going to the ambient temperature sensor, 2 wires going to the washer fluid level sender and 2 wires going to the fog light, where fitted.

I had a recent problem with this loom, that turned out to be caused by a partial fire, caused by rubbing up near the bulkhead, so check the entire length and possibly even remove the dash.

Cheers,

Mike

hi mike thanks for your help,

would these breaks stop the pump working, because the pump red+brown and the other 3 wires are all ok and connected, do you no where these sensors are,so i can find them sorry for sounding supid but this is the first one i have ever worked on.

the wires that are broke are;

3 browns
red/purple
blue
red/brown.

once again thanks
mark

The 3 browns will be for the climate condensor high pressure sensor, the fog and the ambient temperature sensor.

The red and purple will be the feed for the front left fog, if it's a fairly substantial one. The only references I can find for red/brown wires are for the headlamp adjusters, which should be in a separate loom from the one going to the power steering. Also, the blue wire sounds as if it should be a control wire from the alternator, but again, a separate loom.

Cheers

Mike
