A2 power increase methods
has anyone successfully increased the power of their A2?
ie, anyone used a supercharger etc?

wondering if it could be worth doing ?

Buy a TDi and get that chipped, that's probably the easiest and most effective method :)
 
Supercharger: €3000+
Turbo: €2000+

Chip: +8bhp (max!)
Cam + porting + polishing + chip + zorst + x --> maybe 20bhp, €2000

Any further questions? I've seen one Turbo, but no superchargers yet..

ah, so a TDI is the recommendation.

would the turbo unit from the 1.4 diesel not be adapted for the 1.4 petrol?
Would they both have a similar basis?
 
no, because one's a three pot and the other has four cylinders. Maybe the Polo 16V header would fit, but you still need a turbo (which is four figures on its own), somewhere to fit an intercooler and then there's the problem with the interface to the electronic gas pedal....

hi new to the forum was just wondering if anyone has seen or used a turbo supercharger off ebay. it looks like its a filter mod with a fored air induction via a high spinning fan.many thanks james.
 
They are a well known con. Avoid like the plague.
