Pro Boost FSI remap

Following this as I see the central pipework on my FSI is crusty with rust!

Latest batch of Pro Boost ECU's has just arrived. @dances-with-pies @mrbroons @Jmywil i'll send you payment instructions shortly.

There are 5 in this batch, 4 have been accounted for so one is still available with no delay to sending.

Hi Steve, can I put my name down for the last one please.
Cheers Andy

Certainly Andy. I actually have 2, because I had forgotten that one person had made alternative arrangements. I’ll send you the payment details shortly.

Steve, when's your next batch being submitted? I appreciate there appears to be one available at the moment but I need to assess my two FSI's (basic checks, VCDS etc) first ideally.

Both have EML's up, one is appalling to drive in all respects (you did say this remap also cures rear suspension clonks didn't you? :D) but also includes various running maladies. The other one (from Yorkshire) will, I suspect be better but has has its EML up for years apparently.

If there's no prospect of another batch for some time, I'd better grab the remaining one, but if another batch is incoming and esp if someone needs a unit right now, I'll hold off for a bit and work through some early checks.

@Rusty911 The 4 out of 5 from the last batch were only received by the customers last week so I will have to wait for their unused ECU's to come back to me before placing another order. Depending on their response times, we will probably be looking at another 4-5 weeks before I receive the next batch unfortunately.

Number 5 is still available.

I'd better take it then, thanks Steve.

Perhaps you could P.M. the appropriate details and I'll send payment straight away ...

I’ve just fitted my pro boost ecu to Boxy. WOW !!! All the hesitation and jerkiness below 3k rpm has gone, one smooth pull to the redline. I can’t recommend this modification enough if you have an fsi. Thank you Steve for providing this service.

I picked my wife up from work ( who is a non driver) and she said “ have you done something to this car or have you learned to drive it better ?” I hadn’t told her about the pro boost.
You could have said " spent ages stripping down the engine and rebuilding it, what a job".

Missed oppurtunity for brownie points.

Andy

Plastimac raised on another thread about using 95 or 99 Ron fuel with the Pro Boost map, the direct response from Pro Boost is as follows:

“ Hey Steve,
The ignition timing isnt changed at all, so isn't the knock monitoring function. This means that fuelwise everything can be used as stock.

Maybe a little side information: the belief that the ecu advances its ignition angle by itself is a fairytale, the ignition angle can only be decreased for fuel with a lower quality

best regards
Juschka”

Loving the back-handed compliment from your wife there!

Cheers, I've edited the other thread. Sounds like you're spot on, continuing to use 99.
Mac.
