Repairing door card. Must I drill the holes?

Good morning,

Yesterday I dismantled the panel door to see why it was loose and confirmed that it is because of what I had read here.

The question is... Do I have to drill in this part with a 5 or 6 mm drill bit to be able to screw the new screws?

I thinks that the screws must be like this:

Thanks!!

Yes, those are the ones, I used a small washer as the top of the new screw is quite small, it will stop it pulling through the hole.

Ok, the screw and washer is fine :D

But, should I drill the hole again with a 5mm bit? In the red circle on the left is how are the 24 holes that I have to screw. And in the red on the right is how I think I should leave it to screw the screw well (drilling) Right?

Thanks!!!

That is right yes, you can get away with not doing ALL of the holes, but for a better fix I would do them al., it will make the door card much more secure.

If I understand your question correctly, I think a screw will simply push through the leftover plastic-weld material in the one on the left. Or even the 5mm drill bit just twisted by hand. These are hollow plastic tubes.
