the left side headlamp bulb has died...

is there a type of bulb that is brighter than the stock bulbs?

or should i just get the bog standard type so i don't blind other drivers?

where is a good place to get them from?

halfords?

Hi Gerard

Philips do an 80% brighter Xtreme bulb and Osram have an equivalent called NightBreaker.
Stick with these brands as they always come out tops in the AutoExpress tests. For mail order try -

Always remember though, the light that burns twice as bright, burns half as long (to paraphrase Roy Batty in Blade Runner!).

Don't expect an overly long life from a brighter bulb!

Ha, reminds me of that student-experimental discovery of bulbs - you can make any filament bulb burn significantly brighter by tapping it relatively hard on a hard surface. Try it with a standard household 60watter - tap it few times then plug it back in (or even just tap it whilst it's on) - it'll burn like a 200watt bulb for a while, but will probably go pop in a few minutes/ seconds!

Tried Philips Cool Blue, after 2 months or so one died.
Now using Philips Xtreme power for more than 4 months - still working gr8.

Cheers
