Reset TAILGATE warning light?

Hi Folks
Just bought a 1.4Tdi (Y reg) and its absolutely superb, the dealer said that the tailgate warning light would reset itself after so many ignition key turns (which sounds like a right load of flannel to me!) does anyone out there have any experience of this and perhaps know what is causing the warning and how to clear it please.;)

Sounds like flannel to me too - I'd suspect a faulty switch myself, which other members have experienced and fixed with a liberal spraying of switch cleaning lubricant.
