Radio 4 did a very good pod cast on electric vs ICE "best thing since sliced bread" very interesting listen!Filled the a2 today at my local Morrisons 186.9 p a litre it is the most expensive I have paid cost me £50 this morning to go from 1/4 to full on a 42 litre tank tdi
So a quick bit of man maths (basic)
£8.84 a gallon at 60mpg a2
£8.50 to fill my bmw i3S to increase range by 150 miles 26p a kWh at my local podpoint rapid
So not looking at purchase price it’s still way cheeper to run an electric car. @ circa 155 miles per gallon of electricity.
Still enjoy my a2 though.
Yes, it was mentioned on here somewhere.Radio 4 did a very good pod cast on electric vs ICE "best thing since sliced bread" very interesting listen!
"Good price" that Diesel!View attachment 95394
First time at a petrol station in over 2 years. I still miss the A2 but not at these prices.
Yeah i felt maintenance and engine/battery repair/replace was not mentioned nor taken into account but theres so many variables its left me more confused lol!Yes, it was mentioned on here somewhere.
It was slightly odd and although the EV came out very well, the tone and presentation of the program almost suggested the opposite right until the very end.
LOL199.9 last time I filled up….

And an ice car grow on trees ready to be picked and used ! LolIt always makes me laugh when people talk about electric cars , the amount of energy to produce one of these cars and the material needed to make these batteries is really damaging the environment before they’re drivin .
Fuel prices may drop a bit when the world calms down, but I don't expect we will see prices go down to what they used to be. They're expected to be double that from when I got my first vehicle in 2018.
I wish there was a reasonable alternative for most people. Getting an electric vehicle is out of reach for most. At least this will get people out of their wasteful SUVs I suppose.
There is .... LPG. That's the fuel used for both of my current on-the-road vehicles. Factory Dacia Sandero and self-converted Mercedes SLk. Truly astonishing economy. There's going to be a problem with filling points, though .... The Morrisons Supermarket group, previously a reliable place to fill-up,, are removing that fuel shortly. That means that there will be fewer and fewer locations to re-fuel. That's a shame. The Netherlands and Italy are well into LPG and it's readily available. (I'm going there in September) The vehicle tax on the Dacia is in the tax class "alternative fuel car" and is £155 for 12 months. There's not much incentive to get my A2 back on the road with diesel now over £2 per litre. That's sad because its never looked better. The previous (brief) owner had the paintwork embellished professionally to a very high lustre and it has new headlights and special wheels. It's such a pretty picture! I really believe it must be the best A2 out there for looks and features!I wish there was a reasonable alternative for most people. Getting an electric vehicle is out of reach for most. Just the gear-change to get sorted. I'm finding almost any excuse to delay getting it done!Well. If you have a 100% spot on TDi......my advise is keep it locked up, stored properly and ready to go.
Government lost a huge amount of income when COVID was up and running…… with the vat and special tax on fuel…. They are more than happy to let it run. They know full well that motorists will moan a lot, but still pay up. They are just trying to balance the books with little effort…. besides, they wrote off billions of £s from all the crooks that fleeced the government through fraudulent COVID claims…. it was too much trouble to get it back let the motorist pay is the new way forwardFuel prices may drop a bit when the world calms down, but I don't expect we will see prices go down to what they used to be.
