Running Cold

Hello All,

A2 TDI is running cold, with the needle not moving during motorway driving (even with heater off) the needle only moves when travelling at sub motorway speeds.
It's not especially cold maybe 8 DegC outside.
Any ideas?

Hi JLo,

8 degrees is just above the temperature where the aux' heater steps in to provide additional heat to warm the engine. Even so, as long as your journey is sufficiently long (time and distance) and fast, you should be getting some heat. Rather than turn the climate control off, I would drop the temperature down to 19 degrees and see what happens. I would suggest that your car possibly has a stuck engine thermostat.

Hello,

From looking at other threads, it appears to be the water temp sender... The heater/climate control is hot if I raise the setpoint... Expansion tak level is good too.
