Service Hatch won't Serure

I am having a problem with the service hatch on my a2 - had it open over the weekend and bonnet of to change a bulb - all went well but I now cant get the service hatch to secure properly. Driven around today out of necessity, it stayed up (though not secure) but came down once following braking... what could be done? does anyone have any experience of this problem/

It's adjustable - there's a little hook on the inside with a screw to adjust it - loosen the screw, move the hook, tighten the screw again.

Whilst you're at it, see if the catch moves freely - if not, get some WD40 on it (2 person job - 1 pulls and releases the handle, the other squirts the lube!).
