Servicing in Oxford area

hi there,

can anyone recommend a garage for servicing my A2 1.4tdi in the Oxford area? Having had to organise the recent service in something of a hurry I took it to the garage that services my old A6 and, whilst reasonably priced and genuine, I am not sure whether it would be wise to find someone who sees more A2s than the average general mechanic. Any views on this point? is the A2 considered complicated to work on, or just different in some ways, other than the bonnet having to come right off!

Not exactly Oxford, but I can highly recommend Wayside of Towcester: tel- 01327 355535.

I hadn't used them before, but last week I was staying over in the area and my nearside headlamp bulb during the evening blew:rolleyes: Not clever trying to work out where the kerbs are on the pitch black A roads.

However, I called into Wayside the next morning and asked to buy two h/lamp bulbs ( I now planned to always keep one as a spare). I was asked for my keys and was shown the reception area and told to help myself to a free hot drink and to sit and read the newspaper whilst one of their mechanics would check to see which type of bulb it was. Whilst I was halfway through my cup of tea, I was handed my keys together with my spare bulb - AND, the new bulb had been fitted whilst I waited and wasn't charged for their labour, just the cost of two bulbs.

This has to rate as the best service I have ever had from a main dealer.

They are a VW dealer by the way.
 
And again not exactly local but Lion in Northampton looked after A2 & Sharan, Passat, numerous Golfs and now my Skoda!!! They are a VAG specialist independent.
