I am booked in to stafford audi to have cam belt and water pump replaced
£275 for belt (ebay offer) and £50 for pump
will let you know how it goes

Feels strange posting on here now i'm A2-less, but i had mine done there and can't help but recommend them, they looked after the car well, cleaned it in and out and even sorted a few other little niggles for free! (auxillary belt and topped up all fluids!)

I have just had the cambelt, water pump and tensioner changed at Stafford Audi.
Although the tdi had only covered 38k, it is just 5 years old, so was a bit concerned, hence had it done
Also had the bronze service at same time
All on offer via ebay.
They washed the car and gave it a bit of a wipe inside.
All usual stuff, audi warranty for 2 years etc.
Only gripe was having to get a taxi into Stafford town centre (audi booked it for me), they didn't sort a lift for me which they suggested they would, but as it was saturday etc etc.
Other than that Becky on service reception was very helpful and 3 and a half hours later (they had two technicians working on it), sorted, book stamped, indicator reset.
Good service
Oh and the price, the best bit:
Cambelt and tensioner £275
Water pump £50
Bronze service - £79
Total £404

Pretty good deal I feel, and I agree with Mike

Great service and value

Just had the following done at Stafford Audi ( TDI Se 2002 )

1) Replaced cambelt, tensioner, v belt and water pump

2) Bronze service using Shell ultra Helix 5w 30 oil

3)Reactivated passenger airbag ( dont ask!!! )

4)New dipstick

All for £498. My local Audi dealer in watford wanted over £900 for the same
job!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The car was returned washed and hovered.
