Tank capacity?

Quick question, on my 2003 1.4Tdi, what's the fuel tank capacity?

I pumped it full of diesel on Saturday (there is plenty in the country what's everybody panicing about?!) and got 39 litres in - it wasn't filling from empty either - how much juice is sloshing around in there?

Post 2003 - 42 litres

Whats the capacity for the petrol 1.4i then? or is it the same?

Fuel tank capacity of the 1.4L petrol is the same as the 1.4L Diesel, except that the change over to the larger tank happened about a year earlier.

Fuel light came on yestarday got 34lts in it, so i would think that its a 40ltr tank BONE DRY. 1.4 TDI 75, 52 plate

There are only 3 tank sizes for the A2: 20 litres for the 1.2TDi, 34 litres for all pre-2002 cars, petrol and diesel and 42 litres for later models.

Yep - 42 litres.

If you can get to the data sticker by the battery, look for the codes 0M1, 0M2 or 0M3 - these relate to the tank size, with the former being 42 litres and the latter being 20 litres.
