Hi,
Just a quick request of those who have replaced their sender units. Mine has, as seems common, stopped working 90% of the time and I picked up a replacement from VAG today.
I have located the sender on the right side of the engine block facing downwards 30degrees. Does anyone have any advice for removing the connector - removing the plastic clip - removing the sender - avoiding coolant loss - doing all this in reverse to remedy the fault.
The main obstacle is the myriad wires and pipes which make access to this part rather awkward. There seems to be an angled part sticking out of the sender that presumably holds the connector in place - how do you get the connector off without breaking things. Also, is there a specific wy in which the clip mounts to hold the sensor in place?
Any advice most gratefully received,
Kind regrds,
James.
