At the same time as stripping away panels to access the G200 sensor I also removed panels to give me a clue of the position of the HVAC temperature sensor G263 which also had come up on the VCDS scan.
The G263 is not as nice a job as the G200 I can say.
Beware this is a LHD car and this is taken from the driver side.
G263 up here somewhere, very hard to see, but possible to touch with my finger tips.
The sensor connector body can be seen here, after I had managed to first disconnect it and then withdraw it a bit from the HVAC housing.
New and old sensor, the old one was open-circuited by the way. The sensors are just pushed into place by the way.

But still no signs of cooled air from the air vents, I guess I will have to think about gas levels in the system.
