I've got a better condition passenger door if it's of any use to you?
Today I.....
discovered this...
easy to remove? Or specialist required?
Today, I took a soft new paint brush and cleaned dust out of every nook and cranny of every switch, button and gap in the car (a bit extreme, I know), I'm particularly proud of the way the head and climate units look. You'd never believe the car was 16 years old!

The car is on about 28500 miles now and in rude health. I’ve cleaned it more times than I’ve driven it in the last 8 weeks! That's amazing! How many miles? (If any ? )
That was a cracking buy right place right time ..a very nice car ?The car is on about 28500 miles now and in rude health. I’ve cleaned it more times than I’ve driven it in the last 8 weeks!
I know I wanted to keep the mileage down after doing about 2k in the first 6 weeks of ownership, I didn’t expect a lockdown 3 months ago and that would be the reason that the mileage has been limited. I’ve done a 114 miles in 3 months.
Thank you and I’m really glad I’d seen ropy examples previously encouraging me to hold out for the absolute best I could find. Granted I paid a bit more than I originally budgeted for an A2 but I've been really happy and haven’t regretted going beyond budget at all. That was a cracking buy right place right time ..a very nice car ?
.....succumbed to temptation and pressed the button for the OSS. To my surprise and delight, both sections opened without too much complaint, and I was able to enjoy the experience on my way into work this afternoon in the gloriously perfect bank holiday weather.
This now gives me two things to consider.
1. Now it is open, what should I use to lubricate the seals etc to help keep it in good order? Given that it’s now 3pm on a bank holiday, my choices might be limited. Any suggestions?
2. As it seems to run reasonably smoothly, I reckon I could have a go at fixing it by repairing the motor/worm drive which seems to be the main fault. I’ve done a bit of research and have seen the German YouTube video where a repair is done with a carefully sized and bent metal bracket with the roof still in situ. Has anyone else tried this?
I can’t believe that’s your car Andrea its dirty ?.....I’m truly shocked ?.
Oh yes Paul, I counted three grains of dust ?. Lockdown side effects.... if I can’t drive it I might as well clean the heck of out itI can’t believe that’s your car Andrea its dirty ?.....I’m truly shocked ?.
