Tools for non-mechanical work

MOI

A2OC Donor
Having owned 4 A2 over the last 20 years I think I should really learn about how to change the metaphorical light bulb. By that I mean learn how to replace and repair stuff on the A2.

I think I’ll start with non-mechanical work eg. interior components, panels, lights, etc

So…what tools would I need to undertake this kind of work?

Thanks

A good set of trim removal tools, sets of both torx bits and also a good set of screwdrivers should be a good start.

Add a set of XZN triple-square spline bits for the seat bolts. Torx 25 and 30 bits will get most other interior fixings out. A lot of the rest of it is learning where to lift and pull trims in order not to break the plastic clip-holders. Make sure to search for and read any advice you need on this forum.

Great place to start and silver line SP50 spanners are great but no 18mm

Ill add,

Good lights, I like rechargeable LED "slabs" for overall lighting and a torch for detail
Latex gloves so you keep your hands clean and don't get yuck on the interior
Silicone spray for helping lubricate trim on/off
Multi Meter for testing - learn how to use it (youtube) if you have not already
Long nose pliers
