What a smashing little motor the Toyroegeot appears to be!

Looks like 'er indoors' might get a new one (car) after all.

Went to have a close look at the Toyroegeot today with 'er indoors. She likes the Pug version but thinks the boot may be too small for her plant trips tothe garden centre!
I think that is ok 'cos it might stop her spending so much!

Pugs are in short supply though so a Cit may be in order. Toys are too (750 more) expensive.

We shall see!

Hmmm... Is the Fiat Panda not on her list? Surely a FAR better car space and interior wise...

Though the best bet these days that has won a lot of tests as well is the Suzuki Swift. Looks great with some nice details (especially how the glass "wraps" around the car and the high "Audi" shoulders) and same sort of price too. Great interior too me thinks.

£7499 for the cheapest one though... BUT a car that feel like it is from a class above for sure. In the C1/Aygo etc you will never be able to ignore all that painted metal inside or the lack of rear wind down windows and the awfully high rear boot cill.

Also remember that you can now (strangely enough) buy a Citroën C2 for LESS than a C1 with their specials... Only £5995 or so (with £1900 cash back AND free insurance) with the base C1 at £6495!!! Weird. But obviously 3 door only.

Yep the C1 deal looks interesting. The Panda would be my choice but she thinks it looks too skinny and tall from the rear. Admittedly the one we looked at was a 4x4 version, which did look like it was on stilts.

If she does not like tall looking the Swift is a great choice... I looks low and mean with those high shoulders...

If i were to go for any of the toyroegeot`s it would have to be the toyota version, firstly for the dealer liason (second only to Lexus, which are the same company anyway), and secondly for the residuals which will be better with toyota.

As for the suzuki and fiat, they are both nice cars, but will both depreciate like mad (the suzuki especially). So i would stick with the toyota. But i suppose the missus doesn`t think about things such as depreciation, i know mine doesn`t.

BTW, I also had a smart car which i loved, it was a 61 bhp pulse on an 03 plate, great car which i had no problems with, however the semi- auto, tiptronic gearbox is an aquired taste and takes some getting used to, you`ll either love it or hate it. Definately worth a test drive. Oh and if you like smart, and your looking nearly new, buy private, you`ll save a fortune over dealer price`s.

Cheers Phil.

Dolphin grey tdi se, DIS, single cd.

Thanks for the comments. Further detailed looks are coming this week.
She likes the 'look' of a Lupo.
We shall see.

The saga continues.

Dont agre about the Lupo. Had one from new now 5 years old and all its cost so far is two new tyres £90. apart from the normal service costs and MOT every year. Still looks good no rattles as you would expect from a 5 year old car would buy another one if I had the money

1.4 PETROL A2 BLACK WITH OPEN SKY AND REAR BENCH SEAT

Lupo was never popular due it being so bloody expensive for the metal you got... Sounds like the same story as the A2!!! It is a good car and perhaps misunderstood, but it is only a real car up to the back of the front seats. From thereon back it is woefully small and has very weird proportions as a result. Soon to be replaced anyway by the new Brazilian built VW Fox. So perhaps good deals to be had on current stock? But with only 3 doors and that tiny boot it is very impractical. Only thing counting for it (in my view) is a fantastic dashboard and good quality interior.

Get a high specced Panda (they come with Climatronic and you can get full width panoramic sunroof ala A2's OPen Sky). Second choice the Swift on looks alone!

Ok have driven the 'geot' version of the Toyroegeot and ...............
what a cracking little town car!

Anyway SWMBO is very taken and we will be the proud ownwers of one on Sept 1st.

Japanese build quality and engineering in a 'cheaper' French shell.
Ride is excellent and handling OK. Engine note reminiscent of the diesel A2.

Happy new car to 'er.

Swift is tooo expensive. I reckon Toyreogeot is th evehicle of the futrure.
Audi are you listening? They are going to clean up what you started with the A2 'cos it (they) are affordable.
The A2 concept was right and well executed but .......................................
Sponds...................

If your new A2 is steel and priced right you are onto a winner!
