Ventilation fan

Hey just bought my audi a2 today, its a 2001 reg, very nice car dead chuffed... one thing is that fan speeds 1, 2 and 3 dont work on the basic ventilation system. Speed 4 is ok. I was just wondering if anyone knows how to fix this.. thanks

Hi Ben and welcome,

This is a fairly straightforward diagnosis - it is caused by the variable resistor failure on the basic, non-climate ventilation system and it is covered in the following thread:
