Where is my Temp Sender???

I need to replace the Temp Sender in my 1.6 FSI, but I can't see it.....I've searched the forums and found quite a few threads, but still can't find it:(

Don't suppose anyone has a picture which shows exactly where it is?

(Pretend your talking to an idiot :rolleyes: )

I've never seen an FSi engine but the thermostat housing should be on the back face of the engine (gearbox end) above the clutch bell housing

I finally found it !!!

Ok, I finally managed to replace the Temp Sender on my 1.6 FSI. I searched the forums when looking to do this, with little luck, so I hope someone finds these pics useful.

One picture shows where it is located looking directly from the front, although it can't be seen from this angle.

Other picture, taken from about a 45 degree angle to the right, you can see the clip which holds the temp sender in.

It's a little bit awkward, but I managed it ok. One word of warning for anyone doing this, th new o-ring I got with my new temp sender wasn't quite the correct size and I had to re-use the old one - so don't throw anything away until you're sure you have no leaks!!!
