where should this pipe go

hi people

when changing my headlight bulb this morning i noticed that the pipe going from the wiper panel to take waste water away from the panel (under the windscreen) is not going anywhere and is pointing the waste water towards the alternator!, i am assuming it needs to go somewhere, does anyone know where it should go?
