First of all i would like to say the inclusion of the Calender on the Home page is a great idea ,i actually entered a few dates on there a few weeks ago but was thinking that hardly anyone is likely to visit the Calender in its current location ...So it should be easier to see now whats going on Cheers......
Up until last October i had never organized a social event (Castle Combe )of this type,
i did not know what i was volunteering for ,CC Is organised by Audi Driver Magazine and as we have attended several track days in the past they always send me details for every track day that they are involved with ,as i mentioned above My brothers and friends are involved in Owners Clubs and generally everything they do evolves around the car which means they set up displays at various events and there Pride and Joy is placed on it for all to see anything from Track Days to village fates are a good chance to display there cars ......
The reason why i think Track days are a good idea is as you know it is a great chance for us to Display our cars FREE (most of the time) along with all the other clubs but the best thing of all is they happen all over the country which gives access to
a lot more people as people do not want to be travelling 100's of miles and you can always travel to a race circuit near where you live ....
I have mentioned this before about other clubs having area social's ...
but the A2 club seemed to be more interested in having a central venue
where more people can attend as a club , the funny thing is people have sent me PM's asking if we go on a social somwhere ,is there somwhere where we can all park our cars together and have a chat (Its called a track day)
Only Joking !!!!! LOL!!!!
HAVE WE ANY VOLUNTEERS WHO WOULD LIKE TO ORGANIZE AN AREA SOCIAL ....

- Try and maintain a mix of event types. Lots of our members simply aren't interested in track days. This is mostly all we have been offering so far. Some suggestions are days out to include things like picnics, barbeques, quizes, visits to country houses/wildlife parks, daytrips to towns, beach volleyball, paintballing, offroading, Bluewater shopping(!), etc. The list goes on

IM also a family man as it mentions in my signature and i think it would be great for the club if we could get together on a family level for a couple of occasions and bring along the kids i mentioned
Stratford On Avon as there is a great big Grass Area and its close to the town ,fairly central to the country and well catered for so i think Barbaques ,picnics ,football and a game of Rounders ,could be a possibility ..
There is no reason why people cant get together on a local basis for some of the above things then perhaps once or twice a year we all have a big meet where everyone can be involved ..........
I Must admit im really looking forward to the A2 Drive and i really hope that more people show an interest as i think that could be a fantastic day out especially if we can sort a venue out at the end of the drive ,it will be the first time hopefully that we have had that many A2's driving along the road at the same time ,although not accessible to everyone for its location, this will be a unique expereince that surely people wil not want to miss out on ......
I Feel this is dragging on a bit but i think The Garden Party at your house is a great idea and if you need any help in organizing that i could give you a hand
