What plans do you have for your A2 this year?

For me, it looks like we will be keeping Frankie, so I'm planning to

- fit KONI FSD's,
- ST front lowering springs
- Meyle HD drop-links
- Drilled/grooved front discs/pads
- Give the underside of the car some love

Over to you!

Oh lots... :) Not decided yet, but where opportunity knocks ...

  • Get Baby Boomer back on his boots, ie sort out cooling issue
  • Get Project Pure through it's MOT soon

I’m going with a MYP gearbox dual mass flywheel, clutch, oil pump chains. And loads of other bits.

Fit my Votex kit (finally), sort the front drop links and the rear shocks and fix the rattle in the front wheel arch.
Oh, and put tyres that fit on!

Also this morning I put the snow tyres on the yellow one.

Hmm. It's more like a wish list for me.
Need alloys refurbed, rear cup holder, color DIS, get other A2 on road(swap over rear electric windows).
But i have very busy year. Eldest daughter 21 youngest 16, wifey 40. And youngest daughters prom so as said more of a wish list.

In the garage we have;

Heated seats loom and switches
Cruise control stalk
Auto dimming rear view mirror
New gearbox oil

On order from Germany we have a cruise loom.

Once the gearbox oil is done the under tray shall be refitted.

That’s enough for starters.

Ian

Hoping for a speedy recovery for @timmus and then:
  • Colour DIS
  • Cruise control
  • New alloys
  • Who knows what else!
Edit: and perhaps fixing/replacing the big passenger door ding...

This Thursday project boris is going for he’s MOT. If all goes well get a nice set of refurbished alloys and try and make the car look new again and maybe buy a new project that’s really all I’ve got planned at the moment

My TDI will be receiving the goodies from my breaker at some point once Tom's back from the medical room: BOSE, DIS, MFSW, 4xEW, double DIN have all been planned for a while. I have 4 doors and replacements for all the worn trim to go in when we put it all back together. After that I'm already thinking about heated seats and possibly auto lights. Mechanically I'm looking at rear shocks, drop links and a full service before Scotland. That should be enough to be going on with!

Got double din with Concert 2+ and my own bluetooth module planned for late spring, early summer. As for immediate things, front wheel bearings needs sorting out. Also, if any cool upgrade parts will show up in breakers, will try to snach that up - wish list is for hanbrake try, cupholders, leather seats, headlight washers. Unfortunately not many A2 here in Latvia is going for scrapping, as whole year I've seen same 20ish cars rotating in used parts classifieds.

I have a MFSW and rear electric windows to be fitted, I'm holding out to perform a DIS conversion at the same time, perhaps with BOSE if I'm feeling flush!

I have front seats to be re-trimmed, I have a good idea who I'm using now. I also really want to do a restoration on the front underside, everything refreshed and powder coated etc. That's a job for when it's replaced as a daily though :)

Other than that I have a drivers door handle that needs some lacquer work as it's slightly chipped and a leaking rear spoiler that I may order a replacement glass for so I get a fresh seal and can prevent the buildup/staining from occurring again.

Drive it.
Fit Michelin CrossClimate, or similar, to original “5-Stern” 16” wheels.
Remove 15” Pepperpots fitted with Michelin Alpin winter tyres; sell.
(Planning to move house so don’t expect to have a huge cellar in which to store a set of wheels)
Drive it.
Service and MoT it.
Drive it.

Hopefully:
Remap (if I can find someone local to load files!!)
new oil chain +timing belt
Underside fixings renewed/replaced
Handling very soft so maybe if any kitty left look at improvements, other than that just drive it!

Heated seats (having recently acquired a mint climate control unit with heated seats controls and original Audi heating pads), Cruise control (@timmus) and a trip from London to WOM for a nice service. Maybe, just maybe, a trip to Italy to have all seats re-trimmed in leather by some amazing interior specialists based near Modena, who often work with Ferrari.

Plans for this year are;

•Fit tow bar but would I be able for fit Votex kit with bar fitted? I know you have to cut away lower rear bumper ( think I’ve answered my own question )
•Paint lower black trim gloss black
•Repaint many panels which have suffered lacquer peel
•Fabia vrs front hubs
•fit heated looms into front seats
•need Toms knowledge for wiring

Well I hope I get these jobs done!

Best wishes
Ross

I think you would have to cut a notch for the detachable bar. Would have to be a very steady hand :)

That's quite a list Ian. Should keep you (or more so Tom) busy.

Yes it will be one big lump of Tom-time, but with Tom's availability and the amount of stripping down & rebuilding involved, it made sense to me to do all the large retrofits together. I'm hoping to be of some use at least in the dismantling and reassembly stages, plus I have things like the conversion of my manual rear doorcards that I can do (I have some grey electric ones to start me off but I'm staying with the black & blue ones in the long term).
I'm looking forward to it! :)
