Morning,May I ask please, was the key upgrade straight swap or is there more involved?
David might not be able to give you a full answer as he got other Tom to do this for him. Many members have upgraded their keys since reading this thread.
Read through it from start to where you feel confident enough to give it a go, as it explains the whole process which is exactly what I did and utilised to do the same a few years ago:
All the information is freely available to you but you’ll need VCDS to pair the remote half of the remote fob and also someone to grab the SKC from your instrument cluster to pair the new ID48 immobiliser transponder chips. You'll also require a new key blade as the original is too long for the newer style fob, thus won't fold away. If you’re interested in doing this then there is a great eBay seller who offers the correct new shaped key fob for around £50 with a newly cut blade and new ID48 chip.
Kind regards,
Tom
