Hi, firstly a grand job on the forums here. I am new here but have had an a2 for a few years. I have a question that you all maybe able to advise,
The car
a2, 2001, Manual, 1.4 SE, 70K
The problem
-EPC constantly on (for the last year or so)
-Engine stalling coming to standstill 50% of the time
-No other known problems, drives superb and reliability impeccable
I have taken the car to a local AUDI specialist who has plugged in a computer and reported the following codes,
16407
17604
17591
17588
The garage advised that further diagnostic investigation required before they can be certain what the problem is. Initially they stated that the engine ECU needed to be replaced. This 'may' fix the problem, however there is a chance it may not.
On another thread I read http://www.a2oc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=10252 , the problems seem the same as mine, however a totally different replacement of parts has resolved the issues!
I really need guidance as what is the most likely course of action, with minimal cost that will get rid of what is now a niggly and annoying problem.!
Thanks in advance and greatly apreciated.
