Have they given you a reasonable timeframe for a newly built A2? If so I'd get your dealer to supply written confirmation and then write back saying that if it isn't there to the exact spec agreed (your inital spec plus the compensation) that you'll either cancel the order and demand a full refund, or further compensation along with your vehicle.

A new A2 was ordered right away. Although my salesguy remained vague, he mentioned week 30 or week 35 for production (eg. not delivery!). 30 would be nice. 35 would make my total wait twice as long as it should have been.

As for 'demanding things', I'm in no position to do that, really. This will be a lease-car, which I'll treat as my own, but which is of course owned by the company.
I don't know if they (the leaseco) plan to seek compensation. I hope not, because it's better for me if _I_ get compensated with additional options. Not the leasecompany. I haven't informed with the leaseco to find out if they knew about anything at all. Contact is only possible through my own company, which isn't to keen on bothering with drivers like me, who want all the details right ;)

And yes, I'm wondering too what the h#ll happened in Ingolstadt!

Swiv,

My Precious is leasecar too. As a leasecardriver you have some special priveleges (apart from the tax thingie), you can use the leasecompany to bully the dealer.

In your case I'm making a wild assumption that you now drive a rental car (voorloopwagen), the extra costs for the renting can be enough reason for the leasecompany to apply some pressure to your dealer. The dealer can then put some speed behind your car or perhabs claim one that's already built.
The leasecompany can put a dealer on some kind of a blacklist.

I had my leasecompany treat an Opel/Vauxhall dealer like that and it worked like a charm. After that they were very nice to me and they even lend me their Opel Speedster (which is a nice car for an opel).

But don't let it get to you, just wait a little longer and enjoy your A2 when you get it !

It's worth the wait. Mine was waiting for me at the dealer but the leasecompany wouldn't hand it out because my old car still had 5 weeks to go.... That's frustrating, knowing that your new car is waiting for you and that you have to wait for 5 more weeks....

Well, here's an update on how things are going so far.

First of all, the dealer managed to urge the importing agency (what's the official name, BTW) to accept additional accessories instead of a replacement car.

They even managed to put a price tag on that: 750 euro. That was great, so this weekend (when I found out) I chose some really nice ATP 9-razze 17 inch wheels to replace the 16 inch wheels that 'everybody' has.

So far so good, but this afternoon something totally different came up: the leasecompany was unable to provide a temporary car! At least not at an affordable rate (hire cars are way to expensive to go on a holiday with).

So the bottom line will be that the dealer fixes me up with a nice replacement car for the period of my holiday, 2 weeks. Just like the original plan. However nice this may be, it's not something that will last for years, like wheels would....

Luckily the dealer also told me that the new car was scheduled for week 30 or even earlier. They made an exception, so it seems. But for me, it means that the car should be all ready at the dealer when I return from my holiday! Note: _should_ be ;)

Okay. Enough agitation for now. I really thought I had those 17" babies in my pocket. Some things are just not meant to be....[2]
