Information Batch Two of the Arm Rest brackets / plastics for the Audi A6(c5) armrest to fit the A2

Morning Paul,

Great to see these brackets back in production, they are a real treat and uplift the cabins comfort extremely well.

I certainly wouldn’t be without one in an A2 now; actually felt strange commuting in the JR A2 without this feature. I’ll be along later on for another one as a spare for a future project…

Kind regards,

Tom

Progress so far-
I’ve now got 12 brackets welded up that just need painting
5 sets of plastic printed and finished in black plasti dip

More plastics to be printed this week
I need to find some boxes next

Expect PM in the next week or so for the First 5 Set of painted ones

Cheers. Paul

Is it a bolt on job? No interference with the optional rear cupholder?

How much is a geniune Audi armwrest, any one know?

Yes a bolt in to place job. You need to drill a couple of holes in a bracket in the floor pan of the car then unbolt the centre console and remove an handbrake mounting nut. Fit the bracket drill the holes and bolt into place remembering to replace the handbrake mounting nut
All nuts and bolts provided

No issues with or without the optional rear cup holder. The arm rest goes where the coin holder would be fitted

Genuine arm rest for the A2 never existed
Armrest for the A6 c5 model from Audi is likely no longer available new, Audi tradition might have them but be prepared to take out a second mortgage .
There are plenty of A6 c5 models in the breakers yards and they all had the arm rest and not a lot of demand for them so reasonably cheap but do expect prices to go up as the breakers will see an increase in demand from this 2nd batch of arm rests for the A2’s
On the first batch I paid £15 for my arm rest but I was in very early days, by the end of the run of 27 for batch one the arm rests where all £50 upwards as the breakers where aware of stock that had not shifted in years suddenly selling quickly and as a result hiked the prices up

Hi, I would love a bracket if they are still available? Just the bracket, no plastics (I do have a 3d printer though, are the files available for the plastics?)

Cheers,

Jonathan

No problem just supplying the bracket to you
The files for the plastics are not available - sorry

I’ll be welding and paining more brackets over the weekend and should have some available in the next week
First 5 sets of plastics are ready of paint and more being printed

Hi Paul,
I'm late to the party as ever! May I request 1 & 3 please?

Best wishes
Mike

I can certainly do 1 & 2
I’m coming to the end of my tin of black plasti dip and at the price of it I’m not included to buy another tin just to one set of plastics
I’ll advise in a week or so

Cheers. Paul

Update
I’ve finally found a source of suitable boxes to ship the brackets and plastics in

I’m working down the thread from post 1 to the end
I’ve started to issue PM with details for payment and delivery

I have 16 brackets welded of which 12 are painted
5 sets of finished plastics
And a number of ex printer plastics are in print but no full sets yet
So I’ve PM people from post one downwards subject to what I have available, as more plastics are ready further PM’s will be sent out

Regards Paul

Hi Paul,

Only saw this now, I'll take 1&3 if you are willing to post to Ireland.

Thanks.

Northern or Southern Ireland?
Had some issues with customs to Northern Ireland so god knows what it will be like to Southern Ireland
Also it’s looking like only option 2 on the plastics will be available by the time to get to the bottom of the list as running out of plasti dip paint

Southern Ireland. Your fuel filter drain plug got to me with no problems.

If you have enough paint ill take 1&3, if not 1&2 is fine

Ok understood it’s been bigger things like wiper arms that seem to have attracted customs

I’ll put you on the end of the list but should only be a week or so wait now

Is it still possible to order a bracket and the cover painted if you haven't finished your paint pot yet?

Thanks for this all your hard work n the project
