Building my Frankie

Popped down to see Frankie today and drop off the wheels. He's going to be in paint for a few days longer than planned because we've just agreed with the bodyshop to do something a little special with the votex kit.

This car really is going to be a one-off :)

In that case Steve, you better start stripping your own one... Again! Is it a case of keeping up with the Jones', but in the same house! ?

@A2Steve you couldn’t resist posting then lol??! Nothing to report yet, but you’re too excited to contain it ?

No competition between us Sarge lol....at least I’m not in competition anyway ?....I wonder about Steve.
No, honestly, our cars are going to be a completely different flavour from each other, like comparing a great pizza with a great curry! Both tasty in their own way :)

How are you? Haven’t heard from you or Nasra for a while, is everything ok your end? How are you both feeling now?

That moment when you realise at least 50% of the boxes you labelled for a rebuild are labelled wrong :-/

This may take longer than planned lol

Had some progress photos from the paint shop “Pembrey Car body repairs”. He’s doing a fantastic job!! He’s doing it all by hand!! Here’s a preview of the blending work he’s done on the back bumper.... ??

It’s being painted tomorrow and (fingers crossed) collected Friday :)

I hope all goes well Sam and you are happy with the result...looking forward to seeing photos.
Thank you Dave :) I was a bit uncertain, the blending was Nev’s (the painter) idea. But he’s got a really good eye, we trust him. I can’t wait to see the finished thing.

Hope you are well Dave?

That looks like a work of art Sam - a potter and their wheel akin too.

Loving it, looks like it was sculptured factory fresh - really impressive. The finish with paint will be equally awesome I'm sure; looking forward to seeing the reassembled car. Will it be ready for Kimbolton and are you planning on bringing it if so?

All the best.

Hey Darren :) perfectly put! He’s so skilled, it is artwork finish. I saw a red Audi A1 he was working on when we were there last, even on close inspection, I couldn’t see the blend, he’s a real perfectionist.

I think the car probably will be finished by then, but we just can’t afford the treck up and overnight stays at the moment. We’re giving Nev a bit extra for the additional work of blending it, which he has earned 10x over, but it means we’re living on bread and water again lol

Sam, when he's not looking, remove parts from Steve's one to sell and cover costs to get good food LOL

Lmao ? As if, the parts wouldn’t be worth much if it was left to me to remove them! I haven’t got Steve’s know-how.

It’s all good though, a few weeks on bread and water will do my waistline the world of good ?

Just seen these pictures from the body shop ??
All set to be picked up tomorrow so we (mainly Steve tbh) can start putting her back together.

As per the book of face, looking very nice indeed Sam. Very individual - certainly a stand out in a crowd finish. Look forward to seeing it all back together with your new wheels and interior tweaks.
