car mods

MANY mods on my A2 .... and more to come! Pop-up storage compartment in top of the dash, illumination to Audi ring emblems at front and rear, full leather door panels, chrome surround to headlights and rear-light clusters. These are

unusual mods, to say the least. Currently I am working on the drop-down flap at the front of the car. It's going to be completely flush and body-coloured. The Audi ring badge will be illuminated, too. I have DAB ready to install and a

revised DVBT unit. There is provision for video playback, too. I am trying hard to come up with other ideas but there's not much left! Change the leather colour to tan, rear-view camera ... any ideas?

Any pics of the dashtop storage? I've always thought there should be a storage compartment there.

Some great ideas .. im currently lookin for a bumper i can cut up to try and do an a3 bonnet style grill .. do quite like the look.... also wondered if it would be possible to incorporate the sline kit from an a3 .. would need some cutting and filling and then bonding up .. ive done a few kits on cars now so think i could do this

Really like the sound of this. It's about time someone does something radical with the A2.

Bit too radical maybe but: square the back off, delete the rear windows, weld up the rear doors voila A2 van, 1.8t 225bhp audi tt engine, slammed on the floor, painted a real bright lairy colour topped off with QUATTRO 4 WHEEL DRIVE just for starters!

regarding the pop up storage in the middle of the dash...is this an easy DIY job or for the more professional perfectionist?

what kind of kit do you need to buy for this mod?

I plan to fit cameras in the door mirror mountings pointing DOWN !!!!!
It will help to protect my wheeks when parking and much more useful than teversing cameras to me.

That actually looks pretty good.

With a good photoshop version of it I am sure that it will look a lot better.

I would love to see what it would look like properly, I do get the feeling that it could look pretty OEM, if it is positioned correctly (i.e. higher)

Perhaps the A3 front grill might be the right size

(or even the A1?)

something like this perhaps (again not photoshop, so not great)

Would love to see indicators in the wing mirrors as the standard on VAG vehicles currently. Not sure how feasible it is on the A2.

I'd be interested in some pics of the dash top storage as well. As there is never enough cubby holes according to my better half.

Not bad Tai.

Interesting "fog light panel" not seen that panel shaped like that before.

Yep, as I said, it was the first image I came across. Should probably have used one with some fogs.

Tempted Steve?

The one thing I can't resist is temptation (Oscar Wild? or someone like him)

If I wasn't so happy with the overall look of the project I might be tempted, but I promised myself I wouldn't stray too far from OEM, especially if it involved mods that can't be reversed (For example the rear light covers can be removed, before anyone says anything).

So this one will have to wait until I get bored with the look and that will be some time yet!!!!

No, that was a good choice even if it was the first you came across, I am always keen to see the more unusual mods like that front fog panel.

I am intrigued by it, it looks blended into the swage lines etc.

Did you notice their DRLs? Very neat.

I didn't but they are probably a bit too discrete perhaps, I am prototyping this style instead

And David DJ190 is trying these out too (before I did)
