Yep, they are massive. You do get used to them though - a bit like the thick A-pillar on the A2.

The rear lights now also make sense! The rear fake stuff on the original car was the outline of the hatch!

I agree the sloping roof is ala Avant... BUT the reason this car is so long is to fit 7 seats in. Those seats in the back will be awful. I have clambered into the back of the Volve XC90 and it was really cramped and difficult to get to. The best is the new Land Rover Discovery. Easy to get to these last row of seats and once there I felt comfortable and it has acres of space for adults. But that is because the Disco has the high roofline in the rear... This Q7 looks smaller than the Volvo back there! What is the point?!!
