Is there any way of confirming the trim colour on the vin plate or anything?
Here is another option list decoder. - AndyOk thanks, I'll have a look into that tomorrow.
If your headlight is of the splittable type (you'd see some of the spring clips that hold the two parts together when you take off the bonnet), you could remove the headlight, using a Torx 30 screwdriver on the two screws - one on top, one between the lamp and service flap -and split the unit to remove those leaves. Otherwise, you could remove the bulb holder from the back of the unit and use the nozzle of a vacuum cleaner to try to suck them out.
I also just did the headlight job to remote dirt and dead flies, for some reason the old owner forgot to put on the back cover again. Be very carefull cleaning the crome insert. You will damage it easily with a peace of cloth rubbed to fast or hard. And use no chemicals like glass cleaner.
It sounds like you have the later type that are not splittable and will require heat as mentioned above.Gents, how exactly did you separate the lens from the headlight body, please?
I thought I'd have a go with my old NS unit, to clean the inside up a bit to make a better spare. I have removed the two spring clips (it looks like there may once have been more?) but nothing else wants to move. Twisting a large flat screwdriver blade where I can see a gap between the two halves is just eating into the plastic edge of the body. Thanks for any light you can shed (pardon the pun!)
