Or, assuming you don't need better brakes to avoid boiling the fluid or brake fade during rally stages, perhaps you could consider looking further ahead whilst driving and anticipating the need to reduce your speed or to stop. That's always worked for me (and I've been driving since I could, and did, legally drive at 130mph in the UK!)Just fit high performance pads. Discs will wear quicker with the better pads so would fit new performance pads and good discs.
If it's only for the sake of appearance, perhaps something like Kleen Wheels, a disk intended to fit on the hub to protect your alloys from brake dust, would do the trick. They hide the discs and calipers and save on cleaning.Having a standard tdi 75 i find the brakes adequate, but look pants when you have 17" wheels fitted! Big wheels itsy bitsy brake disc etc. As the A2 brakes are 256mm on front, i remember from my mk1/mk2 golf days that everyone was retrofitting corrado g60 280mm front calipers and still managing to fit 15" wheels.
Read both posts, very informative and it does look like new hubs or smaller wheels are needed to create the look I'm after.A recent big brake upgrade - https://www.a2oc.net/community/index.php?threads/today-i.28729/post-366756

I have seen these on cars when they first came out. Got to say I'm not a fan. If i were to do something then it has to be done right. If it's only for the sake of appearance, perhaps something like Kleen Wheels, a disk intended to fit on the hub to protect your alloys from brake dust, would do the trick. If you have a look at #5, you'll see that the enquiry is actually about the appearance of the brakes rather than the efficiency or otherwise of them. Bigger discs are what is required.I remember @steaman posted some pics of his FSI brakes. High performance Greenstuff pads and better discs. Try giving him a shout for more info.
Here is one of his pictures.

Hi all. Does Anyone know if bigger calipers(if so how much bigger and which ones) can be retrofitted to original hubs to increase stopping performance? Or do the hubs have to be swapped?
Thanks Steve
Fabia vrs brake setup is fantastic steve. Even with standard non performance discs and pads the stopping power was perfect. Cost overall was around £200 that included new bearings.
Picture below is 288mm discs behind 16” alloys which fills the empty space

I had to revert back to standard as bearings were fitted incorrectly (lesson learned) use correct bearing tool Gen2.
Also another good modification is to change brake pipes to braided ones that improved looks and pedal feel.
If you do buy some vrs hubs and 288mm discs weren’t big enough you can then upgrade to TT brakes 312mm all you need iCallipers & carriers as they fit onto hubs.
Thanks
Ross
This is very interesting, do you know what the tears would need to upgrade? As these look tiny with larger alloys on

Rears Ross. Not sure what you mean buddy “ do you know what the tears would need to upgrade “
Im looking forward to getting some new bearings to refit them.

Thought you meant rears If you have discs i read a while back a small bracket has to be fabricated to mount a bigger calliper and discs like 256mm
