Front wheel bearing type noise woes - Edit: RESOLVED!!!!!

I replaced the drivers (right) side, and the noise is when I turn left and load the right side only.
Yes logic would dictate that but after I found replacing the rear shocks increased my rear ride height anything is possible!
Does the noise come on in a straight line as wheel bearings tend to do that, my black the noise came on at certain speed to the point you didn't have to look at the speedo to know what speed you were doing.
Sometimes if you spin the wheel and hold the shocker you can feel the vibration thou the shocker
 
If it is not doing the noise and vibrations in a straight line, it is probably not a bearing. How the bearings fuel when the wheels are in the air? Do you fuel some play or not turning smoothly? All 4?
 
The wheel bearings both felt fine. Even before I changed the Off Side.
The noise and feel is typical wheel bearing, but it's not.

I had exactly the same ( documented here) long story short, all 4 wheel bearings, both drive shafts and a gearbox replacement and it was the OSR tyre, which was a quality tyre, less than a year old. I was Absolutely certain It was the front right wheel area.
I think being aluminium makes sound travel differently.

That is interesting. The OSR rear wheel does have a sticky calliper. But, would that make the vibration definitely be felt in the front passenger footwell?
 
Sticky brakes definitely make bearing fail as it overheats the hub and bearing and grease will seep out of the bearing causing it to fail. I had something similar with vibrations in the left front footwell back in my day in first gen Fabia and it was caused by faulty right rear bearing...

Thank you. I have ordered a pair of rear callipers. Seemed sensible. Are the rear hubs/bearings a pig to do, or easy???

I don't know rear disc brake situation as I have drums, but I assume it is same - you can change whole hub with the bearing in it. It is quite straight forward job I would say.
 
Ok. So I fitted 2 new rear callipers and 2 new rear wheel bearings the other day. And STILL the noise is present when I turn left. Tracking has been done, and the tyres are all new Khumo's. 215/40/17

Any ideas? I am hoping to get down to see @Ami this weekend for a ponder and test.

It maybe your drive shaft Phil. I am at the workshop on Saturday then away for a weeks holiday hopefully.
 
That's why I am bringing them too!!!

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of the issue.
Did someone mention biscuits? I’m with @Ami on this, when I had a front wheel bearing go on mine earlier in the year if was a speed related whine not unlike the noise a RR jet engine makes ( not quite as loud of course ) It didn’t get quieter or louder depending on whether turning left or right, just faster or slower. I’d be thinking CV joint perhaps

So, update time - AGAIN!!!
Before I went down to see @Ami at the weekend, I thought I would have a check over of all things front end related on my A2 so I didn't look stupid when I turned up. (Not that hard!! A2 n00b...)

I jacked up the front to compare the sound and feel of the two front wheel bearings. And......

The NEAR side sounded rough when I turned the wheel, but couldn't feel any roughness or play.

However. the OFF side, the side that sounds like it was always the one with problems felt smooth, but had play in it!!!
I placed the jack under the arm to see if the movement was ball joint, and it was still there.
I then let it off the jack, and checked the torque. Was tight at 120Nm.
SO, I left it at that, and went to Ami's the following day, and showed him. Confirmed what I thought that the hub nut wasn't tight causing play and we did it up until there was no play.
On the way home, the sound and feeling is still there. I suspect that I may have actually knackered the brand new hub, with bearing fitted, and possibly the new CV joint if it got to hot from the vibrations.

Before I attend to that, I am going to do the near side wheel bearing though.

Has anyone else ever had a wheel bearing not do up tight when it has been torqued up???
