Evening all.
Its only taken me four months to post in the introductions forum,my bad and i won't do it again!
I do like this forum its a bit addictive,I keep dipping in and out all day to see what new posts are coming up and whats up for sale.
Bank balance keeps taking a knock....eh,Steve!
Talking of Steve,I bought his white A2 (project olaf) a month or so ago and I'm enjoying it, never been in or driven an A2 before.
Steve's a good chap and the sale went smoothly, there's a few thing that need doing and a few things to change but you have to except that on a 15 year old car.
Excellent MPG on the way back from Wales averaging 70 probably won't see that too many times!
I bought this car as a stop gap to see what Electric vehicles prices are in two years time, then my eldest should be learning to drive so it can be his learner.
I have a Gen 1 leaf that I use for a daily, so the A2 will do the longer range stuff.
I also have a bit of a garage queen with a Mk4 VW R32 which is pampered so the A2 won't get 100% of my spare time,it will be cleaned and polished and any work will get done but not pampered!!
Back to the A2.
I had the cambelt and waterpump changed straight away and a good job too as the belt was last changed in 2007 and the pump was the original factory one!
The belt did look fine on the car but when off you could see it was perishing.
Things to do on the A2 are
1, Replace the black alloys with the OEM Sports.
2.Remove the Votex kit.
I'll stop the waffle and perhaps add a picture or 5.
Cheers everyone
Regards Simon
