Missing oil level information in the VCDS measurement blocks

Hi
This is about a 2001 1.4 petrol (actually the S H E car but as this issue could be a general problem I start this separate thread) .
My concern here is that the engine oil level information seems not available when I via VCDS check Instrument, measuring block 4.
In all other aspects this is a normally functioning car driven every day.
I changed the oil level/temperature sensor today for a new Hella sensor, hoping this would change things but no.
The information was missing before the sensor change and still is.
Is this a known issue, e.g. for early cars?
I should mention that when I do this check on my 2003 1.4 petrol the three oil level related fields of block 4 is populated with relevant information.

Is there something wrong with the oil dipstick?
If you unsure of the amount of oil in the engine, you'd probably shouldn't drive until that's sorted, or lower/higher levels might cause further issues.
Thanks for asking, but I have a good (well at least as good as the design admits) dipstick, and have no real worries about the actual level.
Just very curious about the missing data.

Interesting feedback @mtl and @birtyA2 .
I found (🙂) another A2, built 2002-03, outside my house, a 2002 AUA. This one was showing the oil level data data.
I will update the thread with my instrument part no too, good idea.

So looking at the instrument cluster first

Mine: 8Z0 920 950J 05442
@mtl: 8Z0 900 920G 05142

So logic suggests mine might be a later revision but I’m not basing that on any knowledge or understanding of how these codes were created

… and Engine ECU

Mine: 036 906 034EG 00051
@mtl: 036 906 034Q 00051

Hmm, don’t have a view on this, the software revision looks the same

The second nr. is not a revision, but coding ;). Looks like you have newer modules.
I will examine coding of instrument cluster on mine to see, what each bite means. Maybe the answer is there. But I will have access to the car only for the weekend probably.

Partly this is repetition of the first post, but this is just to collect the information better.
This is the 2001 AUA, built 2001.02.

The instrument part numbers differ a bit, is yours by any chance a DIS one? (mines are not)

So, according to photos the coding of instrument cluster is not important for these data.
I see the difference only in the instrument cluster version VDO D13 (also mine) and the one that shows the data is VDO D06 and in the ECU version 3720 (also mine) vs 4030. @birtyA2: can you verify these numbers on your car?

I can confirm on my 2001 AUA I do see values populated for oil levels via block 4 (17 Instruments) using either VCDS Lite and my newly acquired XTool VAG401

Could you share your chassi number as it could help narrowing down where the change was made? (feel free to hide the last two digits or similar in order not to fully identify your vehicle, if you so wish)
