Historically, I seem to have followed my parent's theme of owning British cars, then drifted into larger VAG.
Sharan 2.0S was our first, great car, did everything, so flexible. Scrapped it an only 90k because all the paint fell off and it had suffered a side swipe and a shunt.
Everything still worked.
Then came the Allroad...Nogaro blue 2.5 Tdi 180 manual with low range, bought at three years old and embarrasingly low mileage, sold it to my Dad when I knew that kids and dogs would just ruin it and it started getting expensive to put right.
Dad sold it at 160k on the original clutch.
I then got into Transporter T3's in a big way (disease)
Ran a South African 2.6i 5-pot Microbus as a daily for about 8 years, torquey beast with a LSD transaxle and made such a great sound north of 4k, drove the family 5-up to Austria in it, succumbed to rust in the end so I broke it and came out quids in
The 4wd syncro bus is one of the rare ones, a rhd twin slider getting upgraded to full Oettinger 3.2 flat 6 spec, should be about 180 bhp when I get the engine finished.
The resto has been a nightmare
