That’s good news; thank you @Colin 540. How would I re-seat the grommet? That’s rain water leaking around the rubber grommet on the wiper.
On the scuttle panel.
Not that I’m aware of, although I did just a little after I had washed the engine-bay. What would cause the screeching?Yup do you get any belt screeching noises on startup by any chance?

Teasing it back with very small screwdriver take care not to tear it pulling back so it seats back over scuttle panel.
@Olerype if by the rubber you mean the hose, it is several cm above the engine mount (my photo is perhaps misleading)
Thank you for your concern @Olerype. I don’t experience vibrations, I hope the rubber insert is ok.No, not the hose. Use a flashlight and you will see the rubber insert in mount. But if you do not have vibrations, then no worries! It just looked bad on photo
Seeing as the expansion tank and cap were changed by the garage a year ago, I will probably take it to them. After the death of the garage owner, a new Audi Master Tech has been recruited.I would replace the expansion tank with its new level sensor and cap. The seam is a known weak point , the sensor is a known weak point and the cap seals and relief valve also can fail.
