Do they look write on an A2? I`m not sure is i going to transfer my plate from the mini on to the A2 or possibly sell it. What does everyone else think about them. I used to think that they were 'all that' but im just not so sure now.

Look OK to me. We've got one and many people at the social had them.

Why don't you think they'd look OK?

I think it may be because of the plate 'JON XL' as much the A2 is a nice car i feel a plate like that should be on something a little quicker ?

Think that settles it i will put the plate on the car then!

We specified a 52 plate for our A2 with my wifes name on it. No problems until the car was written off. We have the choice of transferring the plate onto our new A2 - probably going to be 53 dated, or just letting the plate go.
We've decided to let the plate go with the car as we can't see the point of having an old plate on a new car - unless it's an older style plate that immediately says 'this plate is not original to this car and is personal to me'.

Don't drink drive! Not only is it socially unaceptable, it also harms A2's.

My plate starts with A2 then my initials. Found it on the DVLA site for £250. Bargain! As it was so cheap, I can afford to let it go with the car.

By the way, if anyone is interested, the A2OC has a deal with Regtransfers - they'll give a discount even if you're not a club member. I'm not sure how the prices compare with the DVLA though.

Stuart are there ant deals with Number Plate (Acrylic) suppliers who produce "Show Plates" i.e Mis-Spaced ones.

www.fancyplates.com are the people i`ve used in the past and can thourghly recommend but it does seem a very automated process, But if you can speak to them and save us all some pennies it would be a bonus

Don't want to be a spoilsport, but aren't 'mis-spaced ones' illegal?

I think private number plates look great unless then are manafactured with mis spacings, letters or numbers slightly incorrect or unusual screw fixings, or for that matter non standard font. If this is the case I think they are not very suited to an A2.

Yeah thats what bother me phil the 'Trying to hard Approach' think you have just hit the nail on the head.

I wouldn't bother with personnal plates in the UK, by the end of 2005 they will be worthless anyway, trust me I know.

Providing the plates aren't designed in such a way that you can't read them, I think personalised plates are good-but people remember your reg when you cut them up...not that you ever would of course!.

But the A2 is individual enough, so you don't need plates to be noticed!!!.
