Poject fsi castle red aka SYC BOY

I've just fitted the same wheels to mine! Loving the look. Photos as soon as I can find the proprietary USB cable my phone wants to connect to PC.

Mine came with 195/50's on, which have a smaller rolling circumference than the 185/55's that were on my previous standard SE wheels (but obviously slightly larger than the OEM 185/50 size, plus they sit further out. I've been assured that there will be no problems, all seems good so far.

With these alloys one of the members, Mike Skipton, has been running 205/55R16 no problem. Maybe try them and feedback how you get on?

Any problems with rubbing or catching? It’s been mentioned that this size does give the tyres quite an increase over the standard size for circumference and radius so your speedo may be slightly wrong and your engine will have to work a little harder but it’s on the order of 5% or so which I reckon is reasonable.
I’m still sorting my TT alloys before buying the needed rubber and am hoping to get 205/55 myself so your feedback is helpful. They are MUCH cheaper than 205/50.

Very productive week. Manifold on with new gaskets and new injector seals. Car started up no engine management light and no leaks. Car came upto temp without any issues . Took ages for the rad fan to kick in. Tickover a bit low, but car does need a service.
Very happy that all my work seems to have paid off.

As rain has now hit south wales i decided today to have the rubber fitted to the 16" tt wheels. Bought some part worns(i am on a budget people) 205 55 16 conti sport contacts with minimal 6mm tread left. Gotta give wheels deep clean and polish(dreaded tar on them) in readiness to fit after new discs/pads and caliper/dust shields refresh. Already talked to local garage about timing belt service. Gotta start saving :(

Steve, if you need the timing belt done cheaper give me a shout and I can put you in touch with my guy who does all the jobs I don't fancy. He's a mechanic not a fitter and very cheap.

I’ve been looking for the same - part worn 205/55 16s to test the fit with my TT alloys. I had no luck. Does your source deliver?

Thx steve. Does he travel? And would i have to buy parts?

Was going to use my local vw/audi specialist thinking behind it is that they are gonna MOT car.

No he's not mobile, he has a unit in Aberdare. He's just done a TDI belt kit on one of mine for £190 including parts so he's pretty darn reasonable.
Wow nice. Does he use genuine audi parts? And does he do pre mot inspections? And will he come to sunny blackwood?

HE'S NOT MOBILE :) Yes he did the MOT prep on the same car for me and then uses a local centre. I doubt he would use genuine parts because he just has an account with local supplier but worth asking.
