Looks stunning.

Audi Driver is out now, with a nice little three page write up.

Also, over the past couple of days Tom has been working his magic on the car, (re) converting it to accept BOSE, due to a previous owner hacking most of the innards of the door frames etc. to accept a rather naff Sony Stereo.

A (belated) big thanks to @timmus for completing the BOSE upgrade on JRV yesterday. He claims it was the longest BOSE retrofit he's ever had to undertake (and I can believe him, there's been about three days work on this one).

We fitted a Concert II unit, upgraded the CAN to the newer version to also accept a later style DIS so I can now at least see what the buzzing on startup was about*. The pull of the ColourDIS is strong, but I've resisted thus far. Also fitted was an X-Car Link card reader so I can at least still keep a decent amount of music in the car for a longer than average journey.

Whilst the car was apart we took the opportunity to refresh some of the interior panels with newer (and much less butchered/rattley) bits of trim and rubber seals from the donor car I currently have. Put it like this, there is a lot of scrap plastic currently by the bins ready to go to the tip.

Also Tom noticed the airbag cable for the front seat had chaffed and was down to a single core holding itself together, so that was duly fixed.

A remap finished off the work done this time around.

We rounded it off with a nice meal down at the local pub, where Tom was nodding off, so sent him off to my Parents' cottage so he could get some shut-eye before his day was due to start at 7am tomorrow at De Montfort Uni.

*The washer bottle is saying it's empty, but I suspect it's a sensor on it as it I filled it up the other day.

What's the long-term plan with JRV Jeremy? Is it to become your keeper?

A keeper quite possibly. The more I drive and improve it, the harder it would be to sell. Certainly now it's in the realms of a loss leader of I sold it. My initial purchase price has now pretty much trebled, and there's always that one extra thing... Like colour dis. And there has been a lot of hard work done by Tom and myself to get it up to scratch. I'm certainly not selling in the next few months, once the weather has cooled a bit I'll enjoy it for a while, now I can use it as a daily.

:eek::eek::eek:

Sorry to hear that Jeremy, you've put a lot of effort into that car. Not 10 days ago it was possibly going to be your keeper and not for sale for at least a few months ... what happened?

:( Sorry to see this, best of luck with the sale, it looks lovely and a great colour too.
