Thank you Graham,
Thank you Steve,
Very reassuring coming from the guy that has tried literally every possible combination of wheels over the last few years.
I agree that dropping the suspension a bit would really assist setting these wheels off. It just so happens that I was lucky enough to purchase a set of coilovers recently, now where did I get them from... Oh yes, Black Beauty.
Fitting the Votex kit, coilovers and these wheels will all happen around a similar time for a dramatic appearance change (hopefully not in a negative way).
Kind regards,
Tom
Not identical but similar with votex and on coilovers.Morning all,
I have just played with the GIMP software that I recently downloaded for RNS-E Splash Screen ideas.
Sorry @Menno but I have just stolen your wheels sir!

This looks fantastic. Cannot wait for these wheels to arrive.
Graham @audifan, would you be able to get a similar sized, side on image of you Azure Blue A2 with its glorious Votex. Id like to 'put' these wheel on your car.
Kind regards,
Tom
Very nice Erling. Not identical but similar with votex and on coilovers.
How thick adapters/spacers do you plan to use ?The spacers, if I redrilled the wheels or adapters (without drilling) will off course add a little weight which will go against the efficiency of these light weight wheels.
That will be hard to find. ET of the rims are 42, for most of us ET 32 ( e.g. s-line 18 inch ) is as far as one should go. But bolt pattern adapters are often at least 15mm thick. I've never come across any less. So ET 27 is pushing the limits I pressume. Onenother option is to shave some of the hart of the rim in order to get a higher ET to maybe 47. That should give enough clearance.
I hope you can sort this out.

Hi Tom,Very nice Erling.
I did consider these wheels as I’ve seen them (in pictures only unfortunately) on @greywolfhound A2. They look awesome, classic, retro and timeless (I could go on but guess you understand I like them) all at the same time of appearing new, fresh stance and updated. I really do like the look.
I only came across the wheels I’ve recently purchased whilst searching for the very same set as you and @greywolfhound.
You do have a stunning looking A2. Can you confirm that you’re on 195/50s or did you choose another size.
Kind regards,
Tom
Thanks for jumping in Steve.Yes but you are forgetting that these wheels are an inch narrower than those wheels
Good point there, Steve. You are absolutely right. 8 vs 7 inch in width. That might just work. On the other hand, does anybody have any experience with such a low ET (27) and 7" wide wheels? Interesting to know as for both looks and drivability .Yes but you are forgetting that these wheels are an inch narrower than those wheels
Thanks for the letting me know Erling.Hi Tom,
Im very fond of it but of course can take no credit other than buying it. All the work was done by of @Al2coholic with input from @timmus fitting and @A2Steve. I was very lucky to get a 2nd bite of the cherry at buying it when @PaulA2 decided to let it go. It’s wonderful and I can’t wait to get it back running again once I’m able to get up to dads to do the intercooler. It makes me sad everyday having to walk past it and get in my other one. ?
Anyhoo, in answer to your question, it has Avon 205 50 R16’s on it. Again, fitted pre me.

I’ve done the following comparison from what I know are the maximum size wheel width you can fit on an A2 having done it myself 8.5x18 with 217/35/18 tyres.
I’ve guessed at Tom fitting 195/50/16 tyres on these rims and them being 6x16?
With a 15mm spacer they will Definately fit with no issues.
Yes same wheels but I settled for 205 50 16 Nokian wra2 no longer available I bought the 5 off just incase ..Very nice Erling.

Happy to hear your thoughts in light of this sir as I know you’ve fitted a lot more various sized wheels than most of us out together.
If it’s bad new for me so be it, there is always the drilling to 5x100 PCD which I was trying to avoid.
Kind regards,
Tom
