I had mine remapped at Stealth too, gave me a wicked grin on the drive home. Would recommend them to anyone.

I have just re-done my EGR blanking, and to be honest Im glad I have, as the car is now completely different to drive.

Previously when I blanked teh EGR, I put the plate between the pipe and the EGR valve.

Now I have removed the EGR pipe, and put a 6mm blanking plate on the exhaust manifold and a 6mm plate on the EGR valve.

With the blanking plate on the exhaust manifold the cars pickup from idle is immense, compared to what it was. The car seems to pickup effortlessly fromm idle, where as before, there was a slight delay before the turbo kicked in and the car pulled. Its weird but hey, cant complain.

So possilbe conclusion is that 1) with the EGR pipe gone the turbo spools quicker, 2) I had a small leak from my previous tinkerage or 3) Both :p

and strangely enough, my recent MPG is up by 4mpg...................

I had my 1.4 TDi remapped by Stealth about 4 weeks ago prior to my move to Helsinki. It has provided a much smoother ride, with great pick up. Would recommend it. The guys at Stealth were great, let me watch all that was going on.

Stats from Dyno Plot

Torque: 171.0 lb ft @ 2493rpm > 191.9 @ 2583rpm

BHP: 89.4 @ 3255rpm > 109.9 @ 3829 rpm

You've got another of the really powerful TDI 75s. 90BHP pre-remap is good. I took mine to Stealth last week and was at the opposite end of the 75's spectrum: I went from 80.0bhp to 100.0bhp. At least the figures are nicely rounded!

I'm very pleased with the results, though was surprised by how much I've had to re-learn to drive the car. The throttle needs to be used differently than before to get a smooth ride when pootling along at the lower limits of torque, which I do a lot, being more of an eco driver. I don't know if others have had the same? Once the revs pick up a bit, it's a riot! I've been allowing myself the pleasure of using the loud pedal quite a lot since the remap.

Willow77, you're right about the Stealth guys being great. They recognised my interest in what they were doing and were more than happy to explain everything.
