Today I.....

You've probably sold it for a good reason and good luck with your next project, but when you look back in your old ages, probably this will be the sale you might regret o_O

I did hum n hey about selling it and told the buyer he had to give me first dibs if he ever decided to sell it on again but I have a collection of really nice A2's so I'm not too bothered about letting that one go as I needed to make space for this new one arriving in March

I see, so you've the white one a grey one, anymore?

I've got a nice low mileage silver 1.4 sport with Votex, red leather, working oss, x4 electric windows all factory fitted so quite a rare beast, I've also recently bought another dolphin grey 1.4 SE with leather interior and working oss but a poorly engine but that's just a car I bought to fix and flip on then I've got this red Tdi sport that I'm getting that randomly has a genuine Votex boot spoiler fitted 😊

Today I've changed the batteries in both of my keys, they didn't need re-sync, open/close/ignition worked right away.
But when I walked away a minute later, the alarm came on?!
It stopped when I pressed unlock.
Was the system confused for a second using 2 keys in short time? Cheers

So finally I got some alone time with my A2:

1. Replaced the dog bone (fitted Lemforder 36324 01 - it is 100% identical to the original one) - I was hoping very very much that this will solve the annoying rattle - but it did not :( I have "taken good care" of all bolts I removed.
So it is 3:0 for the rattle - oil pump chain replaced, aux belt tensioner replaced, dog bone replaced - and no effect :(
2. Removed earth wire for the starter motor - it was corroded at chassis side (the car started well before this, but it could start better) [I hope person that designed the place for the chassis connector will have a special place in hell].
3. I have added additional earth connection for the wiper motor (this was a preventive action) - and here I am most surprised - the wiper is now moving noticeably faster ... (the grease there is vaseline).
4. I have greased wiper linkage mechanism - just to let it work better.
could the rattle be the heat shield?

Have found the alarms on both ours to go off shortly after locking for no obvious reason and ones got the AF CCCU. currently under investigation having cleared faults and waiting to see what reappears on the next malfunction

I guess that it could - but I spend an hour under the car trying to find a loose element or other source for this rattle - and found nothing …
I am waiting for delivery of the steering rack heat cover (bought from Audi Tradition) as it corroded a one screw and is a bit suspicious - but I am negative that this will solve the rattling

Used Bobalinha as a Chemical Waste Disposal Unit, transporting double packed asbestos roof of my mother’s shed. Looked at of proportion but drove really well. These cars stop at nothing.

Today I had to let "Blueberry" be handed over to next owner.
She was my only petrol car since 1987 and since my 3 kids now have left the nest and have not taken their A2s with them I will have to reduce the amount of cars and spare parts.
Silver and AMF diesel will be the sole' way forward...

Luckily, the new owner is an enthusiast and a member :)

"Blueberry", thanks for your excellent Service πŸ‘

I hope you carefully balanced the load to get the correct nose weight on the tow hitch ...
(Light hearted comment, can't do emojis easily on my Chromebook).

7zap is not entirely dead, it is just what they have for many years called the 'old version of catalogue' that is down - the one we all know and love.

The 'new' version is available, but it is slow, does random things and then recovers and you have to be patient. All the old diagrams are there if you can find them in the new alien structure.

Today I've been to the Haynes Motor Museum, 2 hours away from me.
My A2 did great job both ways, sometimes felt the engine needed a bit more push to get up to speed, but it might be down to, that I don't drive longer distances much.
On the way there I even saw another A2, he kinda gave me a wave too.
The Haynes Museum is a great experience, I do recommend it, I spent so much time in there, I had to rush the last few rooms due closing time, they close a bit too early though. There's so many amazing car/bikes/etc. to see there, much more than I'd expected, I definitely want to go back later this year, plus the ticket is annual one, so pay once and use it for the next 12 months, also there's even a gokart track just next to it too.
Without spoiling much, here's 3 out of 200+ pictures I took today, +1 of my A2 waiting for me at closing time :D
