Two lessons here if Halffrauds diagnose your car get a second opinion and second when you are up life will kick you square in the plums. LOL
Seriously that is good and now cleaned of surplus oil things are on the way up. I also recommend you clean the MAF sensor in the upper air pipe that leads down to the turbo inlet as it could also be contaminated with oil residue or mist. Shame about your phone, some repairable some not. Is it insured?

Site very slow to take replies to posts. Bar flashing on top line and the three vertical bars strobing. When it does take the screen you have just typed in does not clear. Think @ben perhaps needs to be informed about this.

phone is insured, but, as it’s Apple I have to pay£70 excess?, been an expensive couple of weeks for me, would you advise on taking turbo off, and giving it a clean? All the pipe work looked brand new, even the turbo looks newish compared to what it’s attached to.

I'd just clean the MAF and reassemble the car and take it for a reasonable drive to warm everything up fully. At least you will not be pumping in more oil now it is at the correct level. See what happens on the run the do a scan for errors. When posting wait until the strobing stops at the top right and you see a message pop up about new posts. If your typed message is still there as happened with me just delete what you have typed and refresh the screen to see your posting ( and any others )

Funny how nobody has mentioned a decent spanner or screwdriver set. These would be considered essential normally for car work.

I believe in investing in decent quality tools (basically avoid Chinese or Indian made ones) - my favourites are made by Wera - their Joker spanners and screwdrivers are amazing; as are their allen keys, torque wrenches and socket sets.
I've used King Dick socketry and spanners since the early 80s. They have King Dick England stamped on them but guess where they are forged? China, still good tools though.
