vagparts.com gone bust avoid!?

Ok i went back to Vagparts this morning and spoke in person to Martin and the guys at Vagparts and all i can say is i feel very sorry for these guys ......Im not sure what the future holds for them but what i did pick up on was there complete honesty .....It has broken there hearts to see all the comments that people have made on all the VAG Forums .......

Last November they had a record month in sales and they could not believe how well they where doing but at the same time they watched the price of the Euro vs the Pound saga plummet to an all time low ...
Even though they have taken down there site as they are in the hands of the creditors they have still got orders coming out from there earholes how the hell does this happen .....SOUL DESTROYING IM SURE ....

I dont think any parts company that is buying the Original Audi parts from Germany will be able to sell on to us at a sensible price and still make a profit .....

He also showed me a number of orders with A2OC Customers names on which just cannot leave the building including a fresh batch of the hard to get floppy wipers kit....Its just unbeleivable .....

Martyn and The guys are very Sorry that it has come to this ...But most of all would like to say MANY THANKS to
A2OC Members for all the orders they have recieved over the past 6 years they have been in business ....Anyone who had ordered anything from them in the last week or so will all get refunds......

:(............PLEASE DO NOT TRY AND ORDER ANYTHING ELSE .......:(

Thanks Carl for passing on the information, saddening as it is.

Let's keep this thread respectable please folks, if you have any issues, please pick up the phone and get in touch with the guys direct.

Has anybody heard of Trade Parts Network? (TPN)

These guys supposedly supply the trade for all genuine VAG Group Cars.

Just wondering if any deal could be struck with them?

That really is a shame. I had just received my new wiper arm and blade a month ago and they proved to be much more convenient than the Audi dealer on the other side of town.

I found they replied to my queries in good time and were always very helpful.

the German club has a supplier of parts at decent prices, but: they are also dealing in Euro. When you go from 1.25 as it has been for a looong tim to 1.05 (and I've been watching it recently, as I've been picking up christmas presents!) then any margin you once had is squeezed like a squeezy thing.

If they're getting loads of orders and still can't stay afloat then things really are getting bad out there. It's very sad and very worrying.

I've only had my A2 for a year, but used VAGParts for a number of things and found Martyn and Alan to be nothing but helpful and efficient in locating correct parts. Their emails were always friendly and patient. We're all worse off for them going under. I hope they can sort something out and it isn't the last we see of them.

Ok...I Finally had an email yesterday from Matt at Vagparts - they said that they are shipping my order out but were unable to include the fuel filter, the outstanding amount had been refunded (not showed up yet) This morning 8am there was a nock on my front door and it was my parts minus the fuel filter - I now belive in santa again... has to source that fuel filter elsewhere? I would really like a genuine part if possible - any idea where ?

Well allthough this has set me back a bit - i am pleased with the honesty and comitment from the guys at vagpart - hope they reappear in some shape or form...

merry xmas everyboby

Good to know that they are fulfilling what they can and that you are not out of pocket (if they say they'll refund, you can take it that they will).

I've PMd you re fuel filter.

Cheers,

Mike

I'm also very sorry about the demise of VAG Parts. I've not had cause to buy that much from them but I always got friendly service and good advice and a great chat. They certainly knew their stuff and gave a great service to me.

The exchange rate to the Euro will hit many businesses that import goods from the Eurozone, mine too. The fact will be that at some stage prices will rise for those items made there even goods produced here will be affected, well what do we make here in the UK anymore. Even our own produced cars have many components sourced from abroad.

So I wish all the staff from VAG Parts all the best, hope that you can all find new jobs soon and thanks for looking after me with my orders.

I've only just noticed this post. What a sad day. Martyn have always been extremely helpful in getting me all the bits I had wanted... And that you won't get at a Stealer... I do wish them all the luck.
