I think an Audi dealership owner would have a good idea as to its genuine value. No accounting for those who have more money than sense though.

It's value is what someone (maybe only one) would pay for it.

Nice to hear that you are going to use it. IIRC your present A2 was a bit of a money-pit so a 'new' A2 should make a nice change.

Maybe you should contact Audi in Germany about it - they might even extend your warranty :). I am sure they would welcome a PR story.

It would make a superb show car for Audi to display on their next Goodwood Festival of Speed stand, or at premium dealerships. I’m sure it would also confuse a few would be customers at the same time...

I would be gripped sh*tless driving that beautiful car on the road...it would take one simple act from another driver, or being involved in someone else's problem to Dent the Unicorn... The same feeling I have with my A2 even though I drive like Ms Daisy in busy traffic.. so little damage could write off an older car even if its perfect.

Love that phrase “Dent the Unicorn” ?
It is true though is it not we can all as owners of these iconic cars love and cherish them ...BUT ther,s so many out there that don’t care maybe even uninsured on their own vehicles ..it would be a worry I’m sure driving it anywhere .☹

I’ve never owned a valuable or rare car but always had the mentality that cars are to be driven and enjoyed and not locked away in people’s collections.

After reading this thread I think I have more of an appreciation of why owners of super rare vehicles lock them away and it’s solely down to the risk of pranging it, someone else damaging it, not being able to get replacement parts, insurance, losing value, getting bird poo on it, fading, getting it wet, etc, etc.

Its giving me a headache just thinking about it and glad it’s not a problem I have.

Maybe this is an example of actually "Ringfencing the Unicorn".
To drive it is to fully engage with it and love it.... but I would choose my when and where!

Is there no photographs of this thing yet. Offered 45k for something with no evidence of its existence. That's a leap of faith I'll tell thee ??????
But the organisation who offered this amount have seen the car "in the flesh" and have tried to purchase it in the past. For the last few years they have made offers. However, they want to "stuff and mount it" rather use it.

It’s when you look at other cars - just looking! - that they get shirty and break. But not quite enough to not be worth repairing.

Is that a metaphor for marriage?

As our own Jeremy oft says. This thread is meaningless without photos. I rather like cliff hangers but as cliffhangers though this slipped into irritation a while ago. Sorry. You'll always get honest view with me.

£45 not enough, it's a one off, how much do you put on a special one off bottle of wine or a one off of anythink, it's what you think it's worth and can you buy another one if you miss out, special car till it's driven as normal,
