Audi A2 by Mtl - getting it back on the road as a weekend car

Today I took another drive with the car and two new problems developed. Turn signal blinking:

And check engine light appeared, it looks like lambda sensor behind the cat:
16524 - Oxygen (Lambda) Sensor B1 S2
P0140 - 35-10 - No Activity - Intermittent

I also need to tackle a slight engine vibration when at minimum rpms. I suspect ignition cables or distributor. One week ago I started the car and after few minutes it started running on three cylinders...

Hi MTL ... could it possibly be the indicator relay that's faulty causing it to blink faster? ... having read all your posts and watched your videos I know you're a hands on guy, maybe worth buying a G8N - 1 (12vdc) Omron 234442 relay for around £4 from eBay and soldering it in ... it's the smaller left hand relay in the photo, the larger one being the hazards ... I did this with the hazard relay on the same circuit board and it appears to have fixed the random unexplained triggering:

Hi, thank you. Sorry for late anwer, but I was absent.
Great info and I will order the relay to have it in stock since the indicator relay is a known fault, that will happen sooner or later.
For now it looks like the problem was rear light bulb, but I will need to test it a little bit more.

Glad you've got it sorted MTL 👍

I hope this will solve it.
Anyway, my A2 got also privacy shades and now it looks even more sexy :).
I had some problems with installation of the rear door sun shades but the support from Car Shades and slovenian importer was excellent and it was solved.

My old ignition coil was replaced with new, fresh Beru unit. The old one had three cracks in it and hopefully this will prevent engine running in three cylinder mode that happened once last month. Anyway, it needed replacement so...
You can see the cracks in the old ignition coil.

I think this very issue was the reasoning behind the BBY and BAD engines having dedicated plug coil packs rather than the single coil.

All the cracks are in the region of the mounting bolts so could be a torque or vibration issue.

I have the same manufacturers sun shades on my TT. I agree that they are an excellent alternative to tinting. :)

They are really great. I had them on all my cars for the last 10+ years and they are really durable.

Drl done, although it took more than half a year, because of all the problems along the way. This happens if you overcomplicate things :). Not really as I wanted at the start, but will do.

Hi MTL ... I would love to hear Boris Johnson trying to explain the second part of your video 🤣🤣🤣

:) Sorry, since I am not from UK, can you explain the connection. I always enjoy a good laugh… ;)

Another fun blast on Rebrnice, which almost the whole road was resurfaced and it is my new favourite road for A2 near me.

When trying to install the bluetooth adapter I have found that the antivibration foam has completelly disintegrated, so I have replaced it:
This video can be used also as a tutorial how to remove the radio unit and vent assembly.
